Lately, we've been receiving more inquiries regarding the setup of the GI OTx transmitter, which has become an integral part of most SMATV installations we design. Why is it increasingly finding its way into projects?
It's a long way from idea to implementation, but.. We use tools to support the design of RF electronic devices. Before an RF electronic device (in particular an SMATV device such as an antenna, amplifier or filter) is put into serial production, it usually goes a long way.
It would seem that building an antenna system, reliable and stable for many years of operation, is very simple. Just buy an antenna and connect it to the receiver with an appropriate cable. Nothing could be further from the truth! Though there are certainly happy exceptions.
For each active antenna there is included an antenna power supply with a branching filter (separator). It is used to remotely supply DC power to the preamplifier, permanently built into these antennas.
There are many areas in Poland that are in quite a difficult situation in terms of proper reception of digital terrestrial television DVB-T signals. And this is despite the increasingly dense network of transmitters and antennas supporting the primary beam.
