Optical nodes & receivers

Optical receiver is a device whose main function is converting input optical signal into radio frequency signal (RF) which is further distributed in coaxial network. Modern optical receivers enable signal transmission in two directions : from headend to subscriber ( forward channel ) and from subscriber to headend ( return channel ). In case of bidirectional transmission the device is called an "optical node".
